University of Waterloo Longhouse

CSL was contracted to construct an exterior structure inspired by traditional longhouses. The scope included concrete foundations, erecting structural steel, and implementing electrical components. A highlight of the design is the installation of decorative cladding panels, each intricately cut using waterjet technology to showcase artwork by a local Indigenous artist. The space also features wood-slat-framed benches with integrated LED lighting along the base, offering students and staff a welcoming place to sit.
