University of Guelph J.D. MacLachlan Modernization

CSL has been hired as the General Contractor to complete an expansion and modernization to the  J.D. MacLachlan building at the University of Guelph campus. The project involves the renovation and restoration of a large, multi-storey historic academic building at the University of Guelph, together with the construction of a new building expansion. The scope includes extensive heritage work to the existing structure—such as masonry restoration, brick replacement and repointing, repairs to existing wood and metal elements, and rehabilitation of the building’s cupola—along with interior upgrades and new construction to support modern academic use. The project will be executed on an active university campus, requiring detailed coordination, phased construction, protection of existing conditions, and integration with district steam, water, and utility systems.
