65 Delhi St Renovation
This Construction Management project involves a renovation and addition to an existing approx. 14,000 square foot, 3 storey wood frame brick building to provide a new 28 Suite Transitional Housing Facility. The existing building was constructed in 1911 with a later 1 storey addition at the rear of the building. This later addition will be demolished as part of the project. The remaining original 1911 building will then be renovated including; demolition, abatement, structural modifications, sprinklering and the addition of an elevator and generator. The building will receive a new electrical service as well as an upgraded water service for the addition of sprinklers. An addition will be constructed to the rear of the building providing approx. 3,850 square feet over 3 storeys including 2 new exit stairwells and an elevator. The project will include re-pointing of the existing stone foundation both inside and outside. The existing 2 main stairs will remain and are considered heritage attributes to be protected during construction. The existing slate roof will remain except for those portions affected by the tying-in of the new flat roof where the slate will be removed and replaced with new ‘slate look’ fibreglass shingles.
